"A Decade in Google Lobbying"

"When Google GOOGL +0.08% went public in 2004, it spent $180,000 in lobbying, which placed it at 1,892 among the ranks of other lobbying spenders that year. So far this year, 10 years since its IPO, Google ranks eighth, and is on track to spend 100 times that amount, or $18 million. Halfway through the year, Google has already spent $9.3 million, according to data from the Center for Responsive Politics."
